This is the fifth post in our series “Running Mates,” showcasing chic comrades of N&P for their sartorial smarts and their enterprising insight. This month, we feature White House staffer and Becky’s Fund board member Frances Holuba.
–
As one of the youngest staffers in the National Security Council at the White House, Fran works hard to earn her stripes and keep U.S. foreign policy fashion-forward. You won’t find her padding through the West Wing in anything but pumps despite the demanding hours. Fran’s style is a vibrant blend of her interests and influences; she favors classic pieces with visually interesting cuts and bohemian flair. Fran has no lack of role models preceding her in the halls of the White House–like powerhouses Hillary Clinton and Jackie Kennedy–and she continues their legacy with a daily rotation of a-line dresses, tailored blazers, and stylish pantsuits.
Incorporating her love of fashion and business, Fran started her own event planning company while waiting for her White House security clearance. The company utilizes local designers and small business owners. Currently, Fran focuses her talents on fundraising as an executive board member of Becky’s Fund, a local nonprofit that strives to prevent dating and domestic violence. She’s currently working on an upcoming fashion show called “Walk This Way,” highlighting professional athletes taking a stand against domestic violence and walking the runway in designer duds.
