This is the seventh post in our series “Running Mates,” showcasing chic comrades of N&P for their sartorial smarts and their enterprising insight. This month, we feature To The Market founder Jane Mosbacher Morris.
Pictured above is our stylish friend Jane Mosbacher Morris, fellow Choate and Georgetown alum and all-around swell gal, who spent her postgrad years sharpening her skills in international relations as Director of Humanitarian Action for the McCain Institute after a five year stint at the U.S. Department of State. (She’s also got an MBA from Columbia. Smart cookie.) Inspired by her travels throughout India with Cindy McCain, about a year ago Jane founded To The Market, an e-commerce site that employs a market-driven approach to empower survivors of abuse, conflict, and disease. To The Market (“TTM”) showcases a well-merchandised array of survivor-made goods, and Jane’s site helps bring these artisan wares “to the market,” in turn helping women in the developing world achieve economic independence.
We caught up with Jane in Palm Beach at the Eau Palm Beach Resort; the hotel’s fresh, Jonathan Adler-directed makeover was a fitting backdrop for To The Market’s colorful goods. We had a blast checking out firsthand the amazing wares she’s selected for TTM. Stylish, smart, sweet–and determined to use her strengths to make a difference in the world. We can’t wait to see where Jane goes next.
